The police have arrested three more persons involved in suicide attack on Shaukat Aziz in Fateh Jung on the identification of recently held three brothers. Police presented them in the Anti-Terrorist Court which granted five-day physical remand of the suspects. The three persons namely Qari Ahmed Khan, Moulvi Umar Siddiq, and Noor Badshah belong to Attock and Fetehjang and were arrested from these areas.

Shaukat Aziz, the then finance minister was attacked by two suicide bombers when he was coming out of the public meeting during his by-election for the National Assembly elections. He won the election and became premier of Pakistan.

The police have arrested three brothers from Awan village of Attock district namely Abdul Manam, Abdul Basit and Nisar Ahmed on January 18. They were pronounced as activists of the defunct terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad and Jamiat-ul-Furqan and key planners of the attack.

The investigation officer of case, Riaz Chaudhary, brought three detained terrorists in the Anti-Terrorist Court under heavy escort of Elite Force and Police commandos.

They were presented before ATC Judge Safder Hussain Malik seeking physical remand of the suspects for further investigation.

The learned judge has awarded five-day physical remand of the suspects, and asked the investigation authorities to present them in the court on hearing date fixed on February 7.

The investigation officer said that the suspects were arrested on the identification of previously arrested three brothers, Abdul Manan, Abdul Basit, and Nisar Ahmed.
